Editorial Policy
Hedgehog Cinema is written by Dr. Hedgehog, an independent writer based in Korea. These are the rules every post follows. If you find one that breaks them, please let me know.
What gets written
- A post has to give you something you can't get from a plot summary: a reading of a scene, a piece of production history, a practical answer (where to watch, how to get a festival pass), or a film chosen with care for a specific moment.
- Time-bound posts (festivals, screenings, release news) are updated when things change and retired or redirected once they no longer help anyone.
- No one pays for coverage. Studios, distributors and brands do not review posts before publication.
Sources and facts
- Every factual claim comes from a published source: critics and reviews, interviews, books and documentaries, film archives, festival programs and official pages, and trade press. Sources are listed at the end of each post.
- Quotes are copied word for word from the source they are credited to, and the source is named in the same sentence. A line that cannot be traced is cut.
- Dates, prices and availability for events and streaming are checked on the official page and dated in the post ("as of November 2026"), because they change.
- Opinions are labeled as opinions. When a critic is quoted, the words are theirs and say so.
Honesty about experience and AI
- I use AI tools to help research and draft. Every post is then fact-checked against its sources and edited before it is published. The voice, the choices and the responsibility are mine.
- I write about how a film makes me feel, but I never invent an experience: no made-up screenings, no imaginary conversations, no claims to have tested a product I have not used. Product roundups say plainly how products were chosen.
Corrections
Mistakes are fixed as soon as they are confirmed. A meaningful correction (a wrong date, a misattributed quote, a factual error) is noted at the end of the post with the date it was made.
Affiliate links and ads
Some posts include Amazon affiliate links, marked at the top of the post. As an Amazon Associate, Hedgehog Cinema earns from qualifying purchases. Earnings never decide what is recommended, and prices or star ratings are never quoted from memory. Advertising, when shown, is clearly separated from the writing.
