Every great animated movie has a breakout sidekick, and KPop Demon Hunters has a big blue tiger with a lopsided grin. Derpy doesn't sing, doesn't fight, and barely does anything dignified, yet from the moment he first lumbered on screen he became the character fans couldn't stop sharing and reposting. The movie itself, from Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation, became one of 2025's biggest pop culture events. Derpy even got a balloon in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
So when Jazwares announced an official Derpy Squishmallow, nobody was surprised that fans pounced. The KPop Demon Hunters Squishmallows went out of stock after launch, and restocks made headlines of their own. It's soft, round, a little silly, and very Derpy.
What You Get
- One 12-inch Derpy Squishmallow from the "Original" Squishmallows line. That's the medium size: big enough to hug properly, small enough to sit on a desk or a bed.
- Derpy's signature look: bright blue fur and the goofy, slightly-off expression Jazwares calls his "classic silly expression," squashed into the round Squishmallows shape.
- Ultrasoft Squishmallows fabric and filling, the squeezable feel the brand is known for.
- Official licensing from Netflix. The product page tells buyers to look for the official Squishmallows seal, which matters with a character this popular (more on that below).
Jazwares first opened preorders in December 2025, with shipping planned for May 2026, and the wider KPop Demon Hunters plush line has kept growing through 2026. Derpy's partner in crime, Sussie the magpie, is available as an 8-inch Squishmallow with her tiny hat. Rumi and Jinu Squishmallows, which show their demon patterns, are part of the lineup too.
What Fans Are Saying
Buyer feedback for Derpy is about as warm as plush reviews get, and it keeps coming back to the same points.
It actually looks like Derpy. That's harder than it sounds when you squash a big-cat character into a round pillow shape. Buyers say the plush captures his goofy personality and that the blue color is gorgeous in person.
It's extremely soft. Almost everyone mentions the softness. People call it squishy, cuddly and huggable, and a few point out his fluffy hair.
The size is right. Several buyers say the 12-inch version turned out a bit bigger than they expected, in a good way. It's large enough to use as a small pillow or to leave on a bed, and easy for a young child to carry around.
It makes a great gift. Many reviews come from parents and grandparents who bought it for a birthday or a holiday and report that the kids were thrilled. Adult fans and Squishmallows collectors are just as happy with it.
Buyer reviews don't show a recurring complaint about the plush itself. The frustration is getting one: because the line sold out after launch, some fans ran into empty listings or resellers charging well above retail before restocks arrived.
Who It's Perfect For
- Kids who have watched KPop Demon Hunters on a loop (and know every word of "Golden"). Derpy is a gentler, cuddlier choice than a demon-hunter doll for younger fans.
- Teens and adults in the fandom who want something on their bed or desk that says "I get the joke."
- Squishmallows collectors, since Derpy is a licensed character that makes a fun addition to a pile of squishes.
- Stocking stuffers and birthday gifts. It's an easy, crowd-pleasing pick when you don't know which HUNTR/X member someone loves most.
Display idea: pair Derpy with the 8-inch Sussie. In the movie the two travel together carrying messages between Jinu and Rumi, so they look right side by side on a shelf.
Good to Know
- It's a Squishmallow first and a replica second. Derpy is redesigned into the brand's rounded, pillowy shape, so don't expect a screen-accurate, four-legged tiger figure.
- Check the size before you order. Derpy plushes come in more than one size and style, so make sure the listing says 12-inch Original Squishmallow. That is the one this post is about.
- Watch for knockoffs. A hit character attracts unofficial look-alikes. Buy from the official listing and look for the Squishmallows seal.
- Stock can come and go, especially around the holidays. If it's in stock and you're planning a December gift, don't wait.
